The AccessGA Project is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually striving toward improving the end user’s experience, and applying the relevant accessibility standards and best practices to our digital assets. It is our mission to create a culture of full access and inclusion that benefits everyone.

Measures to Support Accessibility

AccessGA takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the AccessGA project website: 

• Include accessibility as part of our mission statement
• Leverage the AccessGA website to support State of Georgia agencies with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility, promoting equal and timely access for employees and customers with a wide range of disabilities
• Include people with disabilities in our design and development processes

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The AccessGA project makes every effort to conform to the Revised Section 508 standards and WCAG 2.1 level AA. 

Additional accessibility considerations

Although our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we have also applied some Level AAA Success Criteria: Images of text are only used for decorative purposes. Color contrast levels exceed contrast ratios outlined in Level AAA.
